Youth Board tours!

Are you a young person (or even a not-so-young person!) who wants to visit the museum but doesn’t know where to look first?

As of our February meeting, we will be offering half hour taster tours around the museum led by Youth Board members. These will look at some of the Youth Boards favourite objects – you might even spot some of the objects featured on our newly designed lockers!
The tours will start at 1pm and will finish at 1.30pm on feburary the 14th!
Hope to see you there!
Elisha.

Teen Twitter Take over day

Last week Kids In Museums held their annual ‘Teen Twitter Takeover’ day, and Emma and I took control of the museum’s twitter feed – the idea was that we would tweet what was going on through out the day, as would young people at many other museums across the country.
Emma and I both quickly realised to make the day more successful we were going to have to establish some kind of theme – we decided on creating our own hashtag #mysteryofthemissingmummies, and undertaking a search around the museum for the ‘culprit’ (The mummies were infact off display for conservation purposes).
This not only made our day super enjoyable, but also allowed us to interact with several other museums, such as the National Museum of Maritime History!

If you missed the day, you can still view most of the tweets by searching #mysteryofthemissingmummies on twitter!
