From the War of Nature

The temporary exhibition called ‘From the War of Nature’ first opened on 11th April as part of the 1st World War commemoration. We first saw the exhibition last month, but Elliot failed to write a blog post for it. We thought the exhibition portrayed well both the conflict in nature and how animals can avoid combat & work together for both species’ benefit. There are some excellent pieces in the exhibition, for example the painting of a large battle between wolves, the stuffed wolf & the large beetles, but we felt that the link to the 1st World War wasn’t made clear or entirely necessary, despite the potential that we felt it had.
