Warriors Opening

Recently at Manchester Museum a new temporary exhibition has opened called “Warriors of the Plains.” All the youth board members were invited to attend the official opening evening with speeches from Neil Macgregor and Nick Merriman. It was a really fun and interesting evening which was great to attend. The exhibition was amazing and it was really interesting to also hear in the speeches the suprising amounts of links between manchester and the indian culture.

I really enjoyed seeing the exhibit and found loads of amazing objectds which i never would have thought about. One of my favourite objects was a beaded cap which was made and decorated in the indian style but had american flags and symbols on it. THe cap had belonged to an indian who joined the american army ad was really cool.

The main case in the exhibit contained two different traditional costumes which were absolutely beautiful and amazingly well made.
